My thriving career in healthcare began 20 years ago when I got my first job as a CNA during high school. After graduating with honors on an academic scholarship from Brigham Young University in 2008, I chose critical care as my primary specialty, and quickly discovered I'm a float nurse at heart with a passion for learning and trying new things. After my first two years of RN experience in a small community ICU in Utah, I moved my family to Los Angeles as a travel nurse in 2010 and joined the ICU float team at UCLA upon completion of my assignment. Since then, I have gained experience in medical, surgical, neurotrauma, cardiothoracic, and liver transplant ICU. I have also cross trained to transport and rapid response in addition to floating to a wide variety of adult care units outside the ICU. I also pick up shifts as a registry nurse at hospitals throughout Los Angeles. I have also worked extensively in the private sector throughout my career, such as outpatient surgery, home health, home infusion, and concierge nursing to name a few.
