CurrentKatie is a Partner at Ethridge Law Group who is licensed in South Carolina and North Carolina. Her practice focuses on general civil litigation, including construction litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith, personal injury defense, professional liability defense, commercial litigation, and employment law. She routinely handles complex multi-million dollar litigation, and has achieved favorable results for clients in numerous cases. She also provides “non-litigation” support to her clients, including contract drafting/review and legal advice related to employment law matters, insurance, corporate policies, investigations, data security, and compliance. Katie published an article titled, Joint Employer Liability, in the November 2020 South Carolina Lawyer.Prior to transitioning back to private practice, Katie worked as Senior Corporate Counsel at Benefitfocus and Interim General Counsel/Deputy General Counsel at College of Charleston. In both of these positions, she handled employment-related matters, managed litigation and claims, managed investigations, provided advice about legal issues that arise in the day-to-day operation of the companies, handled compliance initiatives, consulted on data security, drafted and negotiated contracts and other legal documents, and generally worked to prevent or minimize legal risk through proactive initiatives.
