As a linguist and scholar with a deep commitment to social justice, I am passionate about using democratic and critical pedagogical strategies to combat linguistic discrimination in academic settings. My work aims to create sustainable and practical solutions that promote linguistic diversity and inclusion in education. My research specialties include Critical Language Awareness, democratic teaching, Language Education Policy, and policy and social construct analysis. By combining these areas of expertise, I am able to identify and address the complex ways in which language discrimination operates within academic legislation and curricula through the influences of societal constructs.I believe that education should be a democratic space that honors and celebrates the linguistic diversity of its students. Through my research and practice, I strive to create environments where students can see themselves reflected in the curriculum and feel empowered to use their language to express their ideas and perspectives.Ultimately, my goal is to use my knowledge of pedagogy and linguistics to encourage positive change in education, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive and succeed regardless of their background.
