Katie Whittelsey is a Life Coach | ADHD Coach | Educational Consultant at Academics Plus. She possess expertise in kindergarten, school placement, educational assessment, admissions, literacy and 17 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Our family has used Katie and Academics Plus for multiple needs over the years. She really knows and loves kids, which makes it easy for her to connect with kids of all ages and make them trust her. We used Katie during the admissions process for our youngest. He was sick during the JAPT test and needed additional testing. The learning profile we developed for him, with Katie's help, has served him well at school and he is his own best advocate because he was part of the process and understands how he learns best. She is a great resource for enrichment, as well as getting up to speed in an area where a little extra help is needed.", "There is no one more dedicated or passionate about providing quality education to children than Katie Cyphers. From the children she helps in Atlanta through Academics Plus to the children in Sierra Leone she is educating through her non-profit, Education Cures, she takes her passion, knowledge, skills, and experience to create life-changing opportunities for children truly around the world. I have seen firsthand her passion for providing education to these children - taking the time to assess and address the individual needs of each child she works with. She has seen firsthand the difference quality education makes through her global initiatives and there is no one more dedicated to ensuring that the children she works with receive the kind of life-changing education that they deserve. You can put your trust in her to take the time to work with you, your organization, your child, and your family in providing the best service available. Katie is one of those rare people who not only has the industry expertise, experience, and technical knowledge, but the passion and heart to create true change for both individual children and the education landscape as a whole.", and "We moved to Atlanta in mid-July in a total panic about schools. We had heard the admissions process was arduous and daunting in Atlanta. Katie and the team at Academics Plus were our guardian angel, sherpa and Yoda all rolled into one. They quickly assessed our kids, our parenting style and above all brought a sense of calm to an otherwise chaotic process. They arranged tours, meet & greets and testing with all the schools that they thought might be a match. Out of the 5 schools we visited, we loved 3 of them. They helped us build our case for such late admission; counseling us on every aspect of the process-testing, admissions essays, and interviews. They truly made sure we put our best foot forward and set our kids up for success. After getting admitted to all 3 of our favorite schools, Katie helped us really make sure we chose the one that was the right fit four our family. Her insight into not just the academics but also the social, athletics and culture was priceless since we were from out of town and had no real bearing on the nuances of each school. We look forward to having the team in our corner for years to come."

Life Coach And Educational ConsultantAcademics Plus Nov 2011 - PresentAtlanta, Ga, UsEducational Consulting: I'm a seasoned professional when it comes to helping parents make educational decisions for their children. I walk alongside parents throughout the school admissions process, provide clarity on confusing psychoeducational evaluations of children with learning disabilities, support families in their home-schooling journey, and empower parents to make the best educational decisions for their children. I'm an expert in the Atlanta area schools, but I have helped families all over the US. My tips and tricks set a child up for success, no matter where they are located! Adults with ADHD: Oftentimes parents of children with ADHD have ADHD themselves; this can be so challenging! Adults with ADHD frequently find themselves overwhelmed with managing their daily lives, kids' schedules, etc., and are often so frazzled that they can't do the things that bring them joy. I've coached dozens of men and women and found this is truly a sweet spot for me! In some cases, this means coaching on strategies to live life more efficiently; other times, it's coaching through which tasks could be outsourced. When managed well, ADHD can be such a gift!Young Adults: What happens when your children leave high school and enter the next phase of life? They are suddenly faced with new challenges, new responsibilities, and no safety net of "Mom and Dad" to fall back on. This can be overwhelming for young adults who have relied heavily on their parents for guidance and problem-solving. Many parents are ready to stop micromanaging their child's life, but their 18-25-year-olds still need some support. My role as their life coach is to coach them to take ownership. I've helped my young adult clients with budgeting, relationships, scheduling, resumes, as well as determining the best career path. I see clients via Zoom, as well as at the library at Auburn University. -
