I evaluated the impact of a health-related radio drama tailored to African-American residents of the Birmingham area. The evaluation consisted of surveys conducted at churches in the Birmingham metro area; the surveys asked about listenership, community advocacy and engagement, and personal health behaviors.Additionally, I helped to write and edit press releases, abstracts, and an executive summary of my findings.

I performed as a tech support specialist, handling calls about AT&T teleconferencing products. From May to June, I also took part in a pilot program to bring virtual experts to AT&T retail stores, selling products such as DSL and wireless service to small business owners via telepresence kiosk.

While working at Global Health, I catalogued files pertaining to their health programs, which include design, management, and evaluation of HIV/AIDS programs, community health worker training, and school-based AIDS awareness in DeKalb County.

During my time at Apple, I learned how to be a mentor for new employees and how to communicate effectively within a team. I also taught customers how to use their products. While at Apple, I learned that I wanted to continue teaching and to continue to work with people on an individual level, as well as making changes within a larger group. Face-to-face interaction has become very important to me as a result of my stint in retail.
