Katie is a multi-faceted theatre performer, director, producer, and educator. As the Founder & Executive Artistic Director of the nonprofit organization, A.B.L.E., Katie specializes in collaborating with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). She has produced and directed a wide range of stage productions, films, and digital projects with neurodiverse casts, and also authored adaptations of 7 plays from the classical canon. Katie enjoys working collaboratively with performers to share their own stories, or to find themselves in classic pieces, through a multitude of performance styles. She approaches her work with the ethos that the arts belong to everyone, and centers accessibility throughout the process. In addition to her artistic life, Katie is also a fully certified STOTT® Pilates and GYROTONIC® Instructor with over fifteen years of experience training clients of all ages and abilities to find healing and strength through movement. She loves traveling, photography and (vegan) dark chocolate. She and her husband, Lawrence, are also passionate about animal rescue, and frequently serve as dog foster parents for local organizations.
