Managed the operation of a $3M division of 20 full-time professionals engaged in raising private funding from individuals, foundations, corporations and other sources in the U.S. and abroad; membership and patron programs; public relations, advertising, media relations, and social media; fund-raising operations; special events, and Board development. Stewarded and solicited major gifts. Served on Director’s Advisory Group, setting strategy and policy for the museum. SELECT ACHIEVEMENTS- Grew annual fund-raising from $3M in FY07 to a high of $12M in FY12 - Led preparation for the Galleries’ first capital campaign and the initial 5 years of the 7-year campaign, which has raised 100% of its $55M goal - Participated in the leadership of the $1.5B Smithsonian capital campaign- Spearheaded 18-month effort to recognize the 25th anniversary of the Smithsonian’s Arthur M. Sackler Gallery through DC-based and international activities that resulted in (a) a $5M endowment for the position of the director, (b) a $1M endowment for Contemporary Asian art, (c) a 4-day celebration including a Gala for 400 guests and 28 other special events, (d) presentation of a digital, life-size, interactive, 3D, 360 degree panorama of Cave 220 from the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Dunhuang in the U.S. for the first time, covered in Newsweek- Revived the F|S’s high-end international patron travel program, made it profitable as well as of superior quality, and used it to double the number of patrons, inspire major gifts, and recruit Board members
