Entrepreneurship and Business modelling Working with entrepreneurs and innovative ideas has been a big part of my life for the last 20 years. The last eleven years has been devoted to building Ferd Social Entrepreneurs, a different way of creating social results by investing in Social Entrepreneurs and following them up. We have an active portfolio of around 10 great companies, and have worked actively with 23 social entrepreneur companies. Ferd SE work closely with our entrepreneurs on their business strategy and building a viable economy alongside scaling their social results.Board experience and PoliticsCurrently I have a Board Position at Den Sociale Kapitalfond (DK fund) and at Livsglede for eldre (social entrepreneur). Previous Board positions has been with European Venture Philanthropic Association, Forskerfabrikken, Forandringsfabrikken and more. I sat in on all Board meetings in Innovation Norway for 11 years, learning how to guide a complex organisation and discussing business cases applying for large loans. In the active dialogue we had with five different Ministries, my previous political experience was helpful, from being a Political Adviser at the Norwegian Parliament and later board positions and elected positions in Arbeiderpartiet (Sagene, Ullern and Oslo City Council).Strategic CommunicationMy interest for entrepreneurs and innovations was raised when I, at the age of 31, held the position in the Management team of Innovation Norway, responsible for Strategy and Communications. I got to lead Innovation Norway’s new department for Entrepreneurship (04-06), creating a new strategy for working with entrepreneurs. As part of creating heros out of entrepreneurs, I had the opportunity to travel around Norway looking for entrepreneurs with great ideas at the TV-show Skaperen (TV2) in 2007 and 2009. Working alongside Entrepreneurs (or Companies) who see no boundaries and question all rules, in their quest for social results are mind-bending!
