Hello!I'm an avid cat lover, an unstoppable social entrepreneur, and a sharp social media enthusiast, all rolled into one. My love for animals and my knack for connecting people have sparked the creation of the Happy Cat Cafe, the first and only cat café in Grand Rapids. Thanks to a successful $26,000 Kickstarter campaign (talk about my strategic strength in action!), my passion turned into a reality.Working my way up in the food service industry, from a server to a bartender, then a manager, and ultimately owning my own coffee shop, has been a rewarding journey. This progression gave me the skills and the confidence to integrate a full-service gourmet coffee shop into the Happy Cat Cafe. With hard work and resilience (yep, that’s my achiever strength shining through), we've helped over 700 cats find their forever homes so far!Our hard work has been recognized too. Happy Cat Cafe was awarded 2nd place in Revue’s Best in the West for “Small Scale Attraction”, and guess what? We're nominated again in 2023. We've also been featured in a variety of local media outlets, including Grand Rapids Business Journal, Mlive, Grand Rapids Press, and Women's Lifestyle Magazine.Beyond the café, I'm passionate about empowering women and helping them achieve financial independence. This has led me to work on a new project and an upcoming podcast titled "Stay At Home Money Mom". I believe my futuristic outlook helps me envision a world where every mom can attain financial freedom and create a fulfilling life for herself and her family.As a homeschooling mom of two wonderful boys, I'm looking to help other parents through the same journey. I’m currently exploring the idea of starting a co-op for classical education, focusing on real-world skills, entrepreneurship, and personal responsibility.I'm also an ardent believer in the power of mentorship. Having had multiple interns from Northpointe Christian's Big Picture Learning Program, I've had the wonderful opportunity to guide the next generation towards their dreams.My advocacy for animal welfare has led me to establish several non-profit cat rescues, and I'm thrilled to be joining the board of Fig and Friends Pet Rescue. This all aligns perfectly with my learner strength as every step is an opportunity for growth and discovery.So, ready to join me on this journey?
