Commercial Representation and Tax Controversy are Kati's primary focus, although her experience and practice routinely includes Estate and Trust Litigation, Conservatorships, Probate, and the representation of small businesses in matters ranging from formation issues to shareholder disputes and litigation. Kati regularly represents taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and the Tennessee Department of Revenue in both civil and criminal tax matters, and advises entities addressing issues such as fraud, embezzlement, and federal investigations. She is adept at handling complex commercial and tax matters, and she routinely advises clients in industries ranging from manufacturing to hospitality. Kati is admitted to practice in all state courts in Tennessee, as well as the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations. She was appointed by former Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero to serve on the City’s Better Building Board in 2019, and she also currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Humane Society Tennessee Valley.
