About Katiuska Herrand

Working within the educational non-profit sector for the first half of my professional decade equipped me with both a breadth of skills and experience needed to facilitate radical professional and social change. My ultimate goal as a professional, a student and a person is to empower and equip disenfranchised communities with the tools they need to dismantle systems in place and that has been the driving force throughout my career. The pursuit of my Masters in Educational Psychology at Hunter College fed my interests in finding the many intersections between educational research and closing the gap of racial disparity. My Masters in Teaching English Language Arts (grades 5-9) pushed and further developed my pedagogy and toolkit of teacher moves and classroom perspectives.Professionally, I'm interested in organizations that provide services or work toward the enhancement of disenfranchised communities, and organizations or institutions that conduct educational research within similar communities. I'm preferential toward roles that either allow for direct interaction with students and families, professional development and positions of leadership.

Listed skills include Nonprofit Organizations, Community Outreach, Public Speaking, Event Planning, and 8 others.
