At Insight, I consulted with an online real-estate marketplace to built a machine learning model to predict and rank transactions at risk of cancellation in order to focus the sales team’s outreach efforts.I implemented a logistic regression model based on sales and activity data using the Python packages scikit-learn, pandas and seaborn in Jupyter notebooks.

I conducted fundamental research on temperature stability of novel materials used in data storage devices. In particular, I investigated micro-structural dynamical behavior during melting and sublimation using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). As part of my research, I analyzed the chemical composition of phase change materials using multiple linear regression in OriginLab and built an image processing pipeline in Matlab to analyze microscopy data from 24 fps videos.During that time, I established "in-situ TEM" as a research topic in the institute by interviewing experts, evaluating the required lab equipment and developing necessary experimental procedures. I negotiated with external partners to obtain critical lab equipment allowing us to expand the scope of our research. I published 2 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented my research results on national and international scientific conferences. In addition, I collaborated with other researchers solving experimental problems related to my field of expertise and co-authored 2 papers in high-ranked journals.

At McKinsey, I was a management / strategy consultant intern. I helped a client in the B2B chemical industry with data-driven insights to improve pricing strategy. I implemented a data-driven approach for value pricing and translated decision tree-based price clustering into actionable insights. I defined customer comparison groups, set target prices, assessed customer risks, and coordinated the bottom-up price validation with the sales force. I lead the data collection, validation and synthesis for parts of the diagnostics and coordinated the preparation of key final documents for steering committees with board members and collected input from different stakeholders.

During my two years as project manager (2010-2012) at this consulting initiate of the Berlin of Technology, I successfully managed 7 projects across 4 industries and 3 functions (process optimization, market research and marketing). I especially enjoyed working with teams from diverse backgrounds and I consistently scored excellent customer satisfaction ratings by communicating efficiently and by being on-time and on-budget and thus securing 3 follow-up projects.Before that I worked as project lead and consultant. Among others, I developed the project plan, trained new hires, organized team meetings and monitored the work progress during the analysis of the German power plant market for an electrical engineering company.
