Architect and Co-Founder of Atelier Maison:Before Atelier Maison -Katja worked at local architecture firm Pace*Lautier. Katja worked there from 2009-2014.The largest project she worked on was the new Malta Enterprise premises, in Gwardamangia. Katja had the opportunity to work on a number of projects, ranging from renovations to commercial projects.Atelier Maison -In 2014, Katja and Paula formed architectural practice, Atelier Maison, where they focus on interior architecture and design. Projects include retail outlets and residential interiors, as well as larger projects like offices and auditoriums.Projects and articles by Atelier Maison have been published in a number of local and foreign publications.The mantra of Atelier Maison, is that the design and way a space works must revolve around the client’s lifestyle or requirements – ending up with a very client specific brief and therefore a tailor made experience of space. All projects designed by Atelier Maison, not only address how the space will work in the present, but also how it will evolve in the future. It is all about innovative ideas in the form of custom designs and good detailing, while looking at the architecture holistically. Elements such as planes, volumes and light shafts are adopted to create spaces to their maximum potential and spatial capability.
