Profile bio

About Katja Rentto

I have wide and rich experience within the field of Product Design. I have been working in different roles in the area of User Research, Accessibility, UI design, UX design, Visualization, Design Management and Product management - always with the starting point of what is the identified problem, what are we trying to solve, for whom and why. However, I feel that user centric product design must not only be about end users, but there is the question if the proposed solution is still beneficial for the company or the organization too. So far all the products that I have been part of, have been following the simple linear structure of discover and challenge, define & funnel, develop & iterate and finally deliver. But nothing can be accomplished if the team cannot function seamlessly together. Strong support from the marketing, product management and development team is a must. Most of my experience is with large corporations and working for consumer products. My latest experience is however with teams developing tools to support enterprise users for client-facing work. Keywords: User-centric Design, Design-led Thinking, Design Process, User Experience, Responsive web, Design system, Lean Design, Product Management, Product Design, Quantitative methods & Qualitative methods, NPS, Usability, Longitudinal studies, Remote usability studies, Design Personas, Beta testing, Agile methodology, Team leading, Workshop conduct and management, Planning, Managing, Mentoring & Listening.
