Kathleen "Kat" King, Ashi, Ahdi-F Email and Phone Number

Kathleen “Kat” King, is a Fellow of AHDI, has been in the healthcare documentation industry since 1974, owning a medical transcription service for 20 years, managing and consulting for national MTSOs with teams in 8 countries. With the adoption of the EHR, she pursued degrees in Healthcare Informatics and Healthcare Management Administration, and traveled around the Pacific Northwest, supporting the implementation of EHRs in 11 health systems. She served as Supervisor in Provider Relations for a local independent physician association (IPA), managing providers credentialing and member enrollment, The importance of the "patient's story" has been paramount throughout her career. Kat has served on the board of directors for the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity at the state, regional, national and global levels. She has been recognized for her involvement in many areas, including several trips to Washington, DC, advocating for patient safety through complete, accurate and accessible healthcare documentation, innovative member engagement opportunities and education, and business development. She has spoken at numerous onsite and virtual conferences and webinars, and will be presenting at the 2023 HDIVC. In 2016, just as she completed a medical coding program, she seized the opportunity to join Cybexys, Inc, a healthcare technology company, offering a medical coding expert system utilizing artificial intelligence, natural language processing and machine learning, focused on Healthcare Revenue, Risk Adjustment and Quality Improvement. She has enjoyed being part of the design and development from the user interface perspective to supporting their various clients, and presently serves as the Director of Customer Success.
