Establishing and managing perennial agroecological systems involving driving company trucks, towing trailers, operating tractors with a wide range of implements, operating a range of other specialty equipment and tools, and performing manual field work.

Assists to expand the Savanna Institute's farm management capacity by training and overseeing field crew on new and existing demonstration farms, formalizing tree establishment and management protocols, and ensuring robust data tracking and management. Stewards associated research projects within demonstration farms, including variety trials, management trials, and carbon sequestration monitoring.

Implement all on-the-ground ecological restoration and management projects/plans and oversee all restoration equipment management as well as train incoming staff in land management techniques, plant identification, native/invasive plant surveys and safety. Provide guidance and training to volunteers who serve as Weed Out Coordinators. The program is comprised of volunteers who give their time to remove invasive species within the park system in cooperation with Milwaukee County Parks.

Implement a variety of ecological restoration projects (reforestation, pollinator garden installation, forest stand improvement, native seed collection, hand broadcast prairie seeding and invasive species control) while also helping coordinate Weed Out volunteer program.

Mitigating the effects of the emerald ash borer by administering restricted use pesticide through specialized tree injection.
