I have always been interested in the field of medicine and always enjoyed helping people to improve and maintain their health. Whether it be in the exam room, doing diagnostic procedures, assisting with surgery or caring for the critically ill, my passion to enhance and improve the lives of others has always brought me joy and a sense of fulfillment and purpose. I was a registered veterinary technician for 5 plus years and loved caring for animals and their medical needs. During that time, I worked for 3 veterinary hospitals and they were very rewarding experiences. It was only natural that I felt I could transition to helping and working with people. My main career objective leans towards phlebotomy and still encompasses the personal interaction I enjoy in working with patients. I have just finished my medical assisting program and am currently reaching my goal in the phlebotomy program and attaining a certificate in that career. Many of the skills learned from my career as an RVT like taking vitals, venipuncture and getting medical histories have helped prepare me to challenge myself and further my goals in medicine. Because I am detail oriented, organized, friendly and compassionate, this will open many avenues in my future career as a medical assistant and phlebotomist.
