Part of a team of Master's in Development Practice students working with the Rainforest Alliance in the Peten region of Guatemala. Interviewed community members about their involvement with non-timber forest products, particularly xate (palm leaves) and ramon seed, created marketing materials for two women-run small businesses selling ramon seed products locally and internationally, and developed a cost analysis tool for the businesses to better track and calculate business costs.

Worked with the Business Retention and Expansion department to conduct research on BR&E practices in Minnesota. Reviewed existing literature on BR&E, developed interview questions, conducted interviews with 23 economic development professionals throughout Minnesota, transcribed all interviews, analyzed all interview data using Dedoose qualitative analysis software.
