ProjectThe Department of Defence (DoD), Australian Government is undertaking the redevelopment of Air Weapons Range (Northern Territory) in Delamere. The project involves the construction of key range facilities and infrastructure to enable the continued use of the Delamere Air Weapons Range.It includes repairing of infrastructure and roads, upgrading external boundary fencing and relocating facilities to increase space for target and weapons training, Installation of Electrical and Communication, Radio Towers and Associated Works and the construction of a new Growler Mobile Threat Training.Responsibilities • Oversaw all areas of HSE activity working across 8 km civil construction road works and the construction of observation radio towers for the Department of Defence Air Weapons Range• Managed all aspects of HSEQ documentation in compliance with Federal Safety Standards• Ensured that company safety and environmental requirements were implemented across all company site specific projects and activities involved in HSEQ system audits, risk assessments, inductions, incident investigations and training• Preparing and submitting area work permits to Defence personnel and the client for access to the weapons range • Daily Permits to work, area permits, hot works, excavation permits and working at heights permitsAchievements:• Enhanced understanding of federal government safety industry standards and legislative requirements• Developed understandings of (suspect UXO) unexploded ordinance and emergency evacuation procedures to avoid environmental impact caused by discharge of Unexploded Ordinances• Found practical cost-effective solutions to HSEQ issues in a remote location. • Successfully liaised with regulators, clients, site staff, subcontractors, numerous government bodies and relevant authorities as well as the Department of Defence including Federal government officials on the daily
