Even the greatest of artificially intelligent machines can scarcely simulate human emotion, e.g. the thrill of a creator at their project's success or the bitter lamentations at its failures. Such AI can however, simulate human curiosity, the overwhelming desire to learn scraps of everything and assemble it into the hodgepodge we call living. I was always one of those overly-inquisitive children with more questions than answers, fueled by this possessive curiosity. That was my first taste of engineering--tearing apart gadgets and equipment to see how they worked and then using the scraps to build something entirely new. Years later, I still fiercely pursue my passions, be it computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital art, music, or sleight of hand.
