About Katrina Martel

Hi, my name is Katrina! I'm a fledgling Web Developer with major interests in UX, Tech Evangelism, and STEM Education. First exposed to CS at Google's competitive CSSI bootcamp in Seattle, my undergrad studies at UBC have since ranged from general Algorithms & Full-stack Development, to specializations including Human Computer Interaction (HCI) & Data Science. On my work history, my experience diversely comprises over 10 years mixed volunteering & paid roles as an educator, and over 2 years working specifically with young children in STEM / Coding Instructor positions. Currently, I'm most eager to hone my industry Web Development expertise with roles focused on UX, HCI, or Product Management. I have my eyes set on building the product skills to eventually champion better software in educational technology, and sharing my passion for tech with students in grades K-12.
