Refine the Scope & Sequence and project timeline to fit the grant terms. Conduct classroom observations, student interviews, and educator interviews to collect qualitative and quantitative data as it relates to the piloted ELDES curriculum. Compile and share written and verbal feedback to ensure the curriculum aligns with Northstar standards, encompasses Bloom’s Taxonomy in lesson objectives, and is culturally sustaining for learners.

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise two Digital Navigators to serve our community in obtaining highspeed internet in the home through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). In seven months, our team enrolled over 40 families in ACP. Created sustainable systems such as the "Connectivity Check" to monitor barriers which might lead to disconnection. Collaboratively led and conducted community outreach in regard to ACP. Successfully sunset the Digital Inclusion program when funding ran out. Taught morning and evening Basic Skills Computer classes to adult learners; 10 instructional hours per week. Taught English for Driver's Education for 9 learners in response to the Driver's License for All legislation in MN.

Bilingually recruit over 25 students to partake in Basic Skills Computer classes. Lead weekly push-in digital literacy lessons for beginning and intermediate English as a New Language (ENL) classes. Create and promote Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Lifeline application best practices and processes for co-workers and program partners.

Facilitated four sections of Advanced Placement (AP) Language and Composition in hybrid, virtual, and simultaneous teaching models; facilitated one section of typical 11th grade English. Raised the Advanced Placement (AP) pass rate among students from 60% to 64.4%. Employed different online learning tools to support student learning including: PearDeck, Perusall, FlipGrid, PollEverywhere, Padlet, and the Educator Google Suite. Supported student socio-emotional development through a 30-minute yoga advisory class every other week and on-going discussion about self-care during a global pandemic.

Co-lead the course an "Introduction to Education" for over 140 undergraduate students. Facilitated weekly jigsaw discussions with over 70 students about themes related to the education profession. Guided over 70 students by offering constructive feedback on weekly assignments through the CMS tool, Canvas. Developd laboratory class sessions by coordinating panels and inviting guest speakers. Met one-on-one with students, as needed, to advise and support student learning and success.

Facilitated tutoring and classes for out of school youth and K-12 students who are unable to travel to a traditional school setting. Adapted math, language arts, and English language learner (ELL) lessons for individual students to ensure their growth. Tracked and reported student growth using the Quick San Diego assessment and following federal guidelines. Coordinated classes bilingually with student's families and traveled to students in the four county area to support their learning.

Taught English as a second language and computer literacy to over 50 adult learners from all over the world. Customized and differentiated learning to address all ability levels represented in class . Supervised eight classroom volunteers on a weekly basis to cultivate student success. Actively participated in Peer Learning Communities to research the impact of learning of entry tickets and scaffolding classroom routines.

Taught English to over 20 secondary English Language Learners who have experienced disrupted education. Created and documented original lesson plans and curricula aligned with state standards and the unique curricula of the school, including topics such as literacy, community service and job readiness. Developed the ELL program by engaging and training community volunteers to support students.

Rwanda

Developed, delivered and oversaw an Intercultural and Diversity training series for incoming Peace Corps Volunteers, a total of 7 two-hour trainings for 50 volunteers and 3 three-hour sessions for 17 Peace Corps Staff members. Prepared training plans that emphasize critical thinking and life skills while fostering an engaging classroom environment that encourages self confidence. Managed a student club for empowerment, leadership and healthy living once a week with 45 students. Provided training for 5 Rwandan teachers weekly; these sessions focus on the use of English as the instructional language in the classroom and teacher self-reflection through co-teaching. Taught English as a Foreign Language and Administrative and Business Correspondence to 280 secondary school students, a total of 20 teaching hours per week.

Referred residents of diverse backgrounds in financial crisis to county and community emergency assistance programs by continually advising residents through the complete application process in English and in Spanish. Coordinated a minimum of two on-site resident programs weekly such as adult computer classes, health programs, financial literacy classes and education workshops with community partners. Spearheaded a new tracking and communication system for APAH’s partnership with Arlington Education and Employment Program (REEP) by consolidating resident information and clarifying partnership roles. Compiled and analyzed resident data from two different properties, such as increased income due to resident services or attendance to certain programs, to better meet the needs of residents and for grant purposes.

Developed and adapted high beginning English as a Second Language lessons from life-skills and learner based curriculum for adult learners. Taught non-intensive (4.5 hours of weekly instruction) beginning English courses. Created and taught intensive (15 hours of weekly instruction) learner-centered lessons for beginner adult English for Speakers of Other Languages classes of 25-30 students using a life-skills based curriculum. Facilitated an inductive high-intermediate, intensive (15 hours of weekly instruction) ESOL class from a writing based curriculum. Administered the BEST short test (oral intake test) to new students during new student testing and registration . Updated the resources in REEP’s technology and blood donation awareness curricula on the REEP wiki for all teachers. Updated ESOL curriculum online and create, as well as facilitate, new technology workshops for other teachers. Promoted ArlingtonWorks! by writing articles for The Quarterly report and maintaining the website.
