Senior Safety Advisor
Current- Conducts formal safety compliance inspections in accordance with EHS standards and WCM safety committee requirements- Conducts safety equipment inspections- Maintains and completes internal EHS safety advisor training modules; provides feedback on the safety advisor training program- Assists with the development of customized strategies, educational program, and trainings- Conducts safety outreach for departments and areas assigned - Implements the occupational hazard assessment and exposure monitoring programs including chemical, biological, and radiological hazard assessments, respiratory protection and fit-testing, noise and hearing conservation, and ergonomics- Responds as a part of an emergency team to fires, fire alarm activations, hazardous material spills, gas leaks, indoor air quality issues and other emergencies- Serves as primary hazardous material spill responder including implementation of Hazardous Waste Central Accumulation Facility Emergency Contingency Plan; use of specialized PPE; hazardous environments; and conducting clean-up/decontamination activities- Assists in maintaining the Safety Advisor assignments which include laboratories and building assignments and monthly on-site work schedule- Supports emergency team preparedness by evaluating and regularly inspecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventories; maintains EHS lab coats programs; conducts monthly level A responder and SCBA inspection; performs monthly IH equipment testing- Assists in overseeing the clinical safety programs include conducting annual safety audits to assess the building fire and life safety, wastes areas (medical, chemicals electronic), chemical safety and others.Mentors junior Safety Advisors and Safety Technicians; provides guidelines on the EHS programs and safety cultures- Works with EHS Information Management System (Salute) on implementing and testing new updates or features; reports to Salute on issues and works with Salute to fix the issues
