I am a creative director and leader, researcher and strategist, and neurodivergent thinker and maker. As a connector of people and ideas, I am driven by seeing the unseen, making connections across diverse disciplines, and supporting people in thriving. I have 15(ish) years of expertise in supporting social change—from strategy and research to design and delivery, including co-founding and collaboratively leading Picture Impact. I am particularly skilled in people-centered systems thinking and accessible design for a wide range of learners. I present my work on accessible design for learning and change at conferences and write on Medium and elsewhere. +++I have used my expertise, curiosity and vision to advance social innovation and social change in the public and private sector. I have co-founded multiple social ventures, and have been a key member of organizational and project teams in the roles of director, manager, advisor and lead. I co-founded Picture Impact to center people in strategy, design and evaluation within international development.I am a skilled facilitator and mixed-methods researcher. My highly creative, participatory and inclusive practice draws on a diversity of approaches and methods including ethnography, experiential education, gamification of learning and research, participatory planning and design, constructivist grounded theory , realist and feminist evaluation approaches. I have conducted immersive, ethnographic or action research in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Honduras, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe.I am particularly attuned to issues around participation, power, and engagement. I have designed and led hands-on and experiential training, co-creative and participatory meaning-making workshops with women and youth, people with lived experience, community organization leadership and staff, government officials, and international technical experts, sometimes all at once!I collaborate with stakeholders, users and content-area experts to develop insights. The issue areas that I have a special passion for are financial inclusion, business development (SMEs), positive youth development, community-led development, regenerative land management and sustainable food production, maternal and child health, and waste and resource management.
