In the Human Resources Office Manager role, I provided customers and associates with outstanding service through friendly, productive, efficient, accurate and safe assistance. I worked to ensure the development and success of all associates by providing training, resources and recognition for performance; carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable local, state and federal laws and manage confidential information. I also participated in interviewing, training, coaching and conducting the performance appraisal process for all associates in the HR department as well as providing input and managing area-related payroll and supply expenses.

Alexander & Schmidt is a small loss control and risk assessment company which provides services for insurance companies throughout the eastern half of the United States. My role was to recruit independent contractors to perform the loss control and risk assessment surveys for small to medium sized commercial risks. I posted openings using a variety of sources, reviewed resumes and screened candidates and performed reference checks. I coordinated orientation for our new field reps as well as ongoing training opportunities for them. I also recruited students for the affiliated institute to train folks who have an interest but not the background for performing the surveys. I organized meals and performed administrative tasks for the institute.I performed some HR tasks including administering benefits, revising policies and processing payroll.

As the title infers, I had a hand in most aspects of the Human Resources Department including:•Recruited candidates for temporary and entry level positions. Assisted in the recruitment of higher level technical positions.•Reviewed resumes, screened candidates, conducted interviews, reference checks and extended offers of employment.•Processed biweekly payroll using ADP for 150 full time associates and 10 to 100 temporary associates.•Facilitated new hire orientation and policy training including Sexual Harassment and VDT Training.•Assisted in the implementation of new Online Employee Self Service program.•Provided general administrative support for Human Resources Manager, including data entry, updating company intranet, participating in company meeting preparations, processing bills and other special projects.
