As the second largest food bank in BC, the Surrey Food Bank Development team is responsible for raising at least $1.5 and 5 million pounds of food annually in donations. I worked closely with staff, volunteers, board members and donors/supporters, I took lead in planning, implementing and overseeing fundraising, development and community resources which included (but not limited to): donor cultivation, maintenance, recognition, major food bank fundraisers, such as our Breakfast with the Bank, third party events and all aspects of PR & marketing.

I managed the Social Media Support presence of three major product lines of Sage North America (Sage CRM, Sage 100 ERP and Sage ERP online). This included strategic planning, content creation, execution and data analysis for all social media platforms used. The three product lines used Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and the online community, Sage City. I was also heavily involved with the Employee Activity Committee. In my department, I coordinated all employee activities such as Customer Service Week, potlucks, holidays and any other special occasions. Campus wide, I sub-lead the Charity Committee and worked with our partnered charities like Ronald McDonald House, Junior Achievement, Sharing Farms and many Food Banks to support their needs.

I coordinated all Third Party events and food drives for many organizations. This included providing donors with proper materials and supplies for them to run their fundraisers, coordinating drop-off and pick-up schedules and any other support needed.For two years, I also spearheaded the Surrey Food Bank’s only signature event, “Breakfast with the Bank” which raises at least $100,000 in just one hour. The involvement for this one hour breakfast takes four months of planning from the communications to donors, volunteers, and presenters to the logistics of marketing materials, equipment, food and beverage and other items to create the whole thematic atmosphere.
