From deep budget cuts in education and health care to the startling attacks on workers’ rights, women’s health, and the environment, we need to approach the next legislative session with a firm commitment to Wisconsin families and communities.”Shankland added the next session should focus on jobs, including forming greater partnerships with technical colleges and vocational schools to provide skills training, job coaching, and job placement to better establish a skilled labor force. “Everyone is talking about jobs, but what we need to see come out of the Assembly is a statewide plan to train workers for existing jobs that cannot be filled in addition to creating and retaining jobs,” Shankland said. ### Show less
