About Katrina Jackson

I'm a freelance editor who enjoys helping YA and middle grade authors find the best way to tell their stories.I graduated from BYU in April 2022 with a degree in editing and publishing. I have spent the last five years learning how to apply the rules from The Chicago Manual of Style, edit paragraphs for flow and clarity, and help authors navigate some of the struggles of publishing. I've seen the struggles that authors have gone through as they try to express in words what is in their hearts and I've seen through my schooling how editors help authors say what they want to say.I've had experience working at a publishing company through my internship with Future House Publishing which I completed summer of 2021. I learned what kinds of manuscripts are publishable and what kinds are not, and I learned how to work with authors to improve their writing by fine-tuning and polishing their work. I gained an understanding of how the publishing world works and I can utilize those skills to help you prepare your stories for publishing.I firmly believe that there are good stories waiting to be told -- that your story deserves to be told. As a passionate storyteller myself, I understand the importance of preserving your unique voice. I can help you find the good in your story and make it even better.
