Language Trainers specialize in one-to-one and small group language training for business people and individuals who need language skills for work, travel and family needs.Primary tasks:• Assess the client's initial norwegian language level and create a plan to make progress (in regards to speaking, listening, reading, and writing)• Create a Norwegian language course based on the client's needs and wants• Develop exercises that help strengthen the client's norwegian language skills • Execute the course, which involves regular in-person meetings with the client

My role as the Community Developer involved supporting AFS' mission and organizational goals through the development and support of volunteer-based sending operations, school relations, and volunteer development and management, within San Francisco Bay Area. Volunteer development and management:• Recruit, interview, and train new volunteers within AFS San Francisco Bay Area• Promote volunteer engagement by ensuring volunteers are in necessary roles and have clear tasks and access to training for recruitment, conversion and retention activities• Provide assistance to local Area Team volunteers as newly formed units develop • Respond to questions and concerns from volunteers, volunteer leads, regional and national staffSchool relations and recruitment:• Direct outreach and relationship building with educators, schools and community organizations to plan and execute recruitment activities, including but not limited to school presentations, school visits, college fairs, community events and info nightsSupport volunteer-based sending strategies: • Develop, implement and evaluate sending strategies in collaboration with volunteer leaders to recruit participants• Utilize the ‘Sending Plan’ as the basis for setting strategies based on AT goals, volunteer needs and capacity, as well as local sending market, schools and scholarships• Ensure applicants have quality interviews and orientations• Mentor participants throughout the application process and until departure

Worked as a process consultant, team facilitator, and coach for MBA, MIB, and executive MBA students at HULT International Business School, San Francisco.Core responsibilities:• Observe culturally diverse teams of students in the following graduate level courses: Team Skills, Leadership, and Managing Change• Provide coaching and process consultation to individuals and teams• Encourage, motivate, and help teams learn more about themselves, their leadership abilities, and their team dynamics • Offer expertise and knowledge about organizational, leadership and team development and effectiveness to help individuals and teams learn and develop their own skills about the subject at hand• Help teams recognize and resolve interpersonal conflicts • Provide constructive feedback to individuals and teams based on the students' written assignments and performance in class

Worked closely with a high level OD consultant to shape and then execute the curriculum of a graduate level course in Leadership and another course in Managing Change. This involved developing cases, surveys, and training exercises that became the backbone of these courses. The courses were taught to Executive MBA and MBA students at HULT International Business School in San Francisco, Spring 2012.
