I may have once or twice assisted a customer by filling up their order forms. I also have limited experience in sales department. I assisted a couple in searching for the right pair of Ray-ban sunglasses and ringing up their order. I also did the inventory for both sunglasses and eyeglasses and made sure that there was enough cases for all them. I also answered phone calls although they were easily passed on to more experiences co-workers. Phone duty also includes calling customers to inform the that their order has arrived for sunglasses and contact lenses, that their eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses or reading glasses or a combination of any of those products mentioned are ready for pickup. Now on to customer’s files I can either be pulling files out for the other staff or putting away a document in a specific patients file. I am also photocopying extra forms. I also get envelopes for by hand insurance claiming ready to be mailed. I cleaned the display cases before any of the customers came in. I also mopped the floor.

I cleaned the examination room after the Doctor and Patients were done using them. This includes changing the bed cover sheets sometimes even putting a new roll in, getting the speculums and other washable materials for the sink inside the room to a basin filled with water right beside the autoclave. Putting the cups for urine samples where the patients can see them. Answering phone calls which ranges from booking appointments for patients using the Osler System or double checking for a patient when their next scheduled appointment is. Phone duty also includes calling patients to inform the we have received the results for their test and that they need to book an appointment with their doctor followed by booking side appointments, calling to inform patients to inform them that they have appointment coming up for a specialist and that they need to come to the clinic to get a copy of the information sheet, and sometimes it means to leave a message in the patient voice-mail to call the clinic. Now on to patients files I can either be pulling files out for the other Medical Office Assistant or putting away a document in a specific patients file, I could also be pulling the files of the patients that the doctor will be seeing the following day and I could also be putting the files of patients in their designated shelves after the Medical Office Assistant assigned for billing has billed said patients. I could also be receiving the faxed documents or faxing the documents themselves. I also lead patients to empty examination rooms. Other duties include printing labels for patients, getting the mail, changing the tissue paper and paper towels for the patients washroom.
