Responsible for facilitating organ and tissue donation opportunitiesby providing clinical and family support. Evaluates potential organdonors and advocates for the safe recovery of organs and tissuesfor transplant. Works as a critical care nurse with clinical staff inICUs to help guide the unique care of a potential organ donor.Skillset includes but not limited to:• Interpreting ABGs and lab results, adjusting care as needed• Reviewing and interpreting radiologist reads of CT’s, ultrasoundsand x-rays, guiding care as needed• Allocating thoracic and abdominal organs on the UNOS waitlist• Reviewing recovery procedures with OR staff and ensuring UNOSpolicies are maintained throughout donation process

Provides nursing care for a diverse population of critical patientsincluding post-op heart surgery, psych, orthopedic surgery,neurosurgery, respiratory, oncology, burn and others.Skillset includes but not limited to:• ECMO, CVVHD/CRRT experience and emergent intubation• Assisting in conscious sedation and line placement at the bedside • Medication management and patient advocacy regardingadolescent mental health and mental well-being• Working with patients across the lifespan to assess theirdevelopmental and psychological needs regarding hospitalization• Extensive education in recognizing the signs of depression• Treatment of patients facing polypharmacy issues & overdose Able to give instructional guidance regarding medications forpatients with asthma and type 1 diabetes (new onset and known)
