Over my 30 years in publishing, I have worked in most sectors of the industry, and my favourite part is seeing an author's work come to life in another medium. The opportunities for this to happen are only limited by our imaginations. New technology has opened up more ways for readers and audiences to experience stories, while the feel and smell of a beautifully printed book is an enduring pleasure.After gaining an MA in digital publishing from UCL, I specialised in digital rights and consultancy for many years, until starting the Paper Lion agency in 2017 with Lesley Pollinger. This brought together the two sides of my career - publishing and digital, as we create opportunities for our authors' work across all media.We also offer consultancy in copyright, contracts and rights, for third party clients. I am an experienced negotiator, with particular expertise in digital contracts for both selling and acquiring content for all kinds of digital products as well as traditional publishing. My expertise includes copyright law, publishing rights, and an understanding of digital media technologies and website design.I also lecture at Kingston University, on publishing and on writing for the media. Over the years I have offered training for the Publishers Training Centre, the Association of Authors Agents, and City University in digital publishing and rights.
