My name is Katy Timari and I am currently working to earn my Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. I have a focus in my studies of health policy, with particular interest in rural health policy in Appalachian communities. In my studies and my time working in Central Appalachia with Appalachia Service Project, I have grown into an impassioned advocate for rural communities and issues of health and housing equity, as well as environmental impacts of substandard housing. I am currently working on my studies and looking for employment for the second year practicum component of my degree, and I appreciate any opportunities for PhD programs or possible employment opportunities.
