Industrial Disease Team

I qualified into the Industrial Disease team, handling a full case load of fast track and multi track claims, dealing with claims from the initial stages until their conclusion. I was involved at every stage of the litigation process, regularly dealing with Precedent H Costs Budgets and attending a Costs Case Management Conference.

Industrial Disease Team

From July 2014 until qualification, I dealt almost exclusively with Industrial Disease cases, primarily NIHL claims as well as some HAVS/CTS cases in addition to continuing to deal with Probate enquiries received by the firm. As a relatively new department I also worked closely with the Head of Department to draft standard letters and set up processes for use in each claim.

El / Pl Team

Awarded a training contract with TLW Solicitors, my duties were extended whilst I continued with my previous EL/PL case load. I handled all Probate enquiries, attended Court to represent clients at infant approval hearings and pre-action disclosure applications and was given responsibility of a professional negligence claim. I also took an active role in the processes being implemented within the department in order to streamline the way claims were dealt with and thereby maximise profitability.

El / Pl Team

Handling a full case load of EL/PL claims, dealing with a mixture of fast and multi track claims from the initial stages until their conclusion. I handled both admitted and disputed claims and dealt with each stage of the litigation process.

I was able to complete this role on a part time basis in my final year of university, gaining valuable litigation experience. I was tasked with taking initial claim enquiries from clients, carrying out initial risk assessments and setting up client files.

Providing assistance to fee earners within the Road Traffic Accident Department with a variety of tasks, including taking instructions from clients, liaising with third parties and drafting client statements and Instructions to Counsel.
