I am Georgia Tech graduate and I recently completed a 12 month long post bacc premed program at Agnes Scott College. Over the last 6 months, I have applied to medical school, worked as a fulltime in-home adult caregiver, and managed survey data collection for a biomedical study on behalf of Emory School of Medicine at Grady Hospital. I intend to become a physician and I am currently seeking experiences to broaden my understanding of various medical fields and career options within global healthcare. As an undergraduate, I majored in a self directed 'History, Technology, Society' program. My path enabled me to explore science as a cultural practice through many lenses and evaluate what role it does and should play in society. I feel that earning an interdisciplinary education at an engineering university has provided me a unique perspective into the relationship between basic and applied research and how the products of each can be applied to human health. My motivation for a medical career is based on the important role doctors play in translating practical scientific information to individuals and communities.My resume represents a range of interests, but holistically represents my passion for scientific research and its application to people's daily lives. I worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the behavioral sciences for 5 semesters, exploring the relationships between various forms of intelligence and mental capacities for data processing. I have also worked in academic and legal research, but my focus for the last 1.5 years has been gaining knowledge of various healthcare systems. I have volunteered and shadowed healthcare professionals of all levels in many diverse medical environments. I now work as a research analyst for a medical device engineering company.
