Head Hr - India, Bangladesh & Srilanka
Current
Copenhagen, Dk
Here, I led matrixed teams operating from geographically diverse locations to oversee HR business partnering, service delivery, and employee relations. My primary KRA was to support the multibillion dollars’ worth ocean & logistics business spanning across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and Maldives. I provided end-to-end HR and ER solutions to thousands of FTEs and contract labour. As a member of the Board of Maersk’s legal entities, I executed successful HR function strategies through utilization of industry best practices, people processes, and technical transformations, in collaboration with key business stakeholders. I oversaw talent management practices, including attrition control, skills’ enhancement, staff motivation, performance improvement, succession planning, career growth, and talent mobility across matrixed levels. In this role, I provided strategic & operational support during & post 3 significant M&As, establishing IBS (India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka) as a strong, capable, and gender-balanced talent pool for entities in the rest of the world. Some of my significant accomplishments here have been: ► Led from the front to steer strategic decisions, align operations, engage with key stakeholders, and ensure business continuity during the unprecedented and challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.► Steered major integration exercise of consolidating logistics & supply chain entity with the ocean one; brought thousands of employees and contract staff from across diverse cultures under a single umbrella.► Proved instrumental in leading the largest and most peaceful settlement in the history of Maersk India; paved way for rationalization of manpower for future growth of contract logistics. Resolved a dated retrenchment matter that impacted ~100 contract labour. ► Conceptualized setting up of an ‘all women’ pink warehouse – a first-of-its-kind initiative in the industry and globally in Maersk.
