Responsible for day-to-day operations of the city with a budget exceeding $150M including general, capital, special revenue, and debt funds and provided leadership to approximately 600 employees.Accomplishments include:- Completed the town’s first strategic plan DEI plan, and special event policy- Increased the number of women included in our leadership team from 39% to 45% and people of color from 6% to 23%- Created the Transportation and Infrastructure and Community Development and Neighborhood Connections departments- Began planning process for new 311 system to enhance customer service- Initiated and oversaw the implementation of the results of an organizational assessment that expanded staff capacity, established a new compensation plan, created career progressions, revamped our performance feedback process, and created a new training and development position in response to staff’s request for more professional development opportunities- Council passed a budget that included $40M for Big Branch 2, a major water and sewer infrastructure project that will increase our capacity for new economic development opportunities- Council passed the affordable housing incentive policy

Provided leadership and direction on the enforcement of city civil rights ordinances (fair housing, employment, public accommodation, credit); provided leadership of contract compliance and business and technical assistance programs supporting minority-owned, woman-owned and small disadvantaged businesses; administered community relations initiatives that promoted diversity and inclusion, immigrant integration and violence reduction; supported and developed programs that increased economic opportunity for low to moderate-income individuals, and worked with elected officials and government and community leaders to address inter-group tension.
