Grant Manager
CurrentIn this highly responsible management position, I provide leadership and expertise to support MARC’s Aging and Adult Services Department. During daily interaction with department directors, program managers, internal stakeholders and grantor agencies, I oversee comprehensive fiscal management for programs funded by multiple Federal and State grants. Financial and Grant Management Duties: • Oversee and manage grants/projects which includes building grant infrastructure, assisting program staff with budgets, reviewing monthly requisitions, performing revenue recognition, preparing journal entries, monitoring budget changes, and reviewing financial reports. • Ensure compliance with federal, staff and local grant requirements, laws and regulations, which includes the timely filing of appropriate reports with local, state, and federal agencies. • Participate in the development of a comprehensive annual budget for MARC. • Work closely with accounting staff to ensure internal controls are adequately and consistently implemented. • Perform an ongoing review of the internal financial and grant related policies and procedures. • Respond to grantee requests and provide technical assistance as needed. • Support and/or lead special projects related to the grant portfolio and other broader financial issues of the organization. Management and Leadership Skills Utilized: • Maintain a rapport and with Aging and Adult Services Department staff to ensure a cohesiveness of efforts. • Supervise grant accountant including their recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, evaluating, and general performance management. • Develop regular methods of cross training direct report grant accountant to ensure appropriate back up is in place. • Regularly collaborate with the Aging and Adult Services Director to discuss process effectiveness and identify needed revisions. • Lead others through problem solving, conflict resolution, and process improvement in order to meet department goals.
