Director Of Membership Development
Current• Consult with chapters to design outreach and other program initiatives that can be implemented and are effective at expanding the Merit Shop Philosophy.• Create support resources and seminars that help chapters develop core skills that include volunteer recruitment and engagement, event organizing, fundraising, communications, financial management, governance and membership development• Assess chapter effectiveness and, if necessary, work to develop processes to increase organizational performance• Develop processes to increase organizational performance• Develop and approve curriculum for national conferences and provide subject matter expertise for membership topic areas• Provide volunteer leaders and chapter presidents with direction, program options, and support to deliver on the Association’s mission and strategic objectives, especially those pertaining to membership growth and retention efforts• Facilitate the strategic planning process at the chapter level working closely with volunteer leadership, chapter presidents and senior management to drive ABC’s strategy and long-range plan based on opportunities and risks, industry needs and organizational capabilities• Membership development training and oversees membership professional orientation program• Conduct necessary research, and remain abreast, of association trends and best practices, ensuring that ABC and its chapters are early adopters of innovative processes and approaches• Develop membership campaigns and guide chapters in implementing campaigns, as well as methods and programs to deliver ready-to-implement best practices for all chapters• Tracks and reports membership activity to chapter staff and leadership of Association• Act as a liaison to Membership Development Committee
