From Sales & Regional Management for a roller skating company (Right? That is a thing? Yes, and it's very challenging) to Construction. I took the leap into the Construction Industry - something I knew nothing about. I heard conference calls, conversations and stories through my spouse, so it was a scary move for me.Don't pigeon hole yourself to one industry! Take the leaps when they present themselves!What experience & traits do you gain from a roller skating company that I have carried over into the Construction Industry? Seems like this would be a question I could never answer, but it was very simple!- Working with a melting pot of team members creates a wide range of effective communication styles to instill motivation & teamwork. From those that are starting their first job, to those who have been in the industry for 15+ years, varied levels of education, religions, ethnicity and more allowed myself to learn new communication and leadership skills.- Fluidity. At the drop of a hat, it can all change. With a smaller business, you find yourself involved in many facets of the business (Hiring, customer injuries, operations of the business, financial analysis, the not so fun side of HR, etc.) Being able to be fluid in those situations has allowed me to think outside of the box, adapt to the situation and have proper decision making & problem solving skills.- Resilience. A stressful career means having high resilience. My resilience sky rocketed through the disruptive changes and the strain. I was able to learn a lot about myself through the stress and how to respond/react with grace.I still have improvements on all of the above and more, but I continue to learn, develop/grow; even though I'm not in the leadership position I was once in.

  • Manage and communicate with subcontractors for payment submissions for the 12 active projects. Review, collate and process all subcontract documents. • Create and submit on time KCG (owner) pay applications for the 12 active projects and work closely with accounting for successful draws.• Assist with the development and management of the Procore electronic folder organization and document naming conventions that will be developed and utilized over the course of a construction project including, but not limited to, Architectural Documents, Contract Documents, Pay Forms, Lien Releases, Field Reports, Financial Control Reports, Inspection Reports, and project closeout.• Assist with the development and management of logs required to manage and report the contents of the various folders , with emphasis on invoices and payment applications for approval.• Process PCCO's, PCO's and CCO's through all active projects.• Provide administrative support across the company departments
