I'm a public speaker and facilitator in DEI and oft polarised sociopolitical culture areas as well as moderating and mentoring difficult conversations. I'm active in a number of diverse, creative and human awareness areas including leading on methodology at the Human Library, speaking at ED&I events, talks & panels, appearing on media, TV and Radio, and consulting at Pick My Brain on culture, diversity and inclusion.I also devote lots of time to arts, voluntary and third-sector work, Mental Health, disability, LGBTI+ and other diversity areas through teaching, training, panels, chairing "Respectful Conversations", art projects and looking after my own mental and physical wellbeing with gardening, photography, cooking and herding cats.Specialities: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Belonging & Wellbeing; Bias & Polarisation, LGBTIQ+, Sex & Gender theory, Mental Health, Neurodiversity, Political, Economic & Social Commentary, Writing, Public speaking inc TEDx talks, Conference keynotes, Confidence Coaching, Tech, Multilingual, well-travelled, Dr Martens & Book addict - I have 180 boots and 6,000+ books. Since 2020, and the age of Zoom, my role is now international involved in development and D&I event delivery, as well as leading on maintaining our methodology across all platforms. I work closely with Ronni Abergel, the Danish founder of the organisation now present in 80 countries. The Human Library creates a positive but apolitical space to explore bias, stigma, stereotype and prejudice, through encounter and dialogue with openminded people who become "Books" to enable "Readers" to safely risk asking questions of difference and diversity in a non-judgemental space. #UnjudgeSomeone extends to Books and Readers alike allowing deep courageous conversations to take place without taking offence and the safety to learn and unlearn language, preconceived ideas etc. It's a rare opportunity in our polarised views world to meet the human being in all their complexity, individuality and intersectionality, beyond diversity policy documents or Equality Act protections. It's a DEI experience not a training.
