About Joe Kaufman
I spent my college years preparing for a career in software development in the gaming industry. After graduation I became interested in instructional design as well as the software and technology used in all forms of education, but non-traditional students specifically. Through a series of serendipitous events I found myself in early childhood special education as a teacher in an inclusive classroom.I spent a year as a teacher then trained for and became an ABA implementer. I then worked 1 on 1 with clients and their families while collaborating with occupational, physical and speech therapists to share ideas, share insight and help each other think differently to bring holistic services. Helping people grow, so that our impact will have had a lasting effect, is what motivates me to continuously improve to help others improve.Curiosity and problem solving are what I consistently offer. I am always seeking and discovering new interests but I have a passion for Kansas City, instructional design, open culture, philosophy, science, nontraditional education and human optimization. My goal in life as well as my career is to learn as much as I can and solve problems. Very simply, I want to do.No matter where I am, I am always aware of the individual person. I have as much passion seeing my peers prosper as I do my clients. I am focused on using my skills and passions to constantly improve myself and everyone around me to do a job well and with purpose. All while gaining perspective and clarity to be better today than I was yesterday.
