2022 - Bigger entusiasm for the home delivery concept, invested in two more cars, newer, and more expensive. Worked for a period, then we got some set backs, due to different happenings. But still keep the optimism, struggling on for day running. What we see, is probably tha the most challenging task in Norway, is to get reliable drivers.2021 - Interesting year in the life of West Logistikk AS. Entered into the business of home delivery of food, in close cooperation with Gordon Delivery. Strted fresh and optimistic with two "a little too old cars", but it worked. We did,t want to do huge investment before we learned a little more about the market. ManagerRutranslogistic Jan 2009 - Dec 2011Russia And LatviaSome resume following from former position, same group of companies;2006 – Together with Norwegian partners, we invested in forest harvesting machines, harvesters and forwarders. Are now operating in Leningradsky region.2007 - Met the worst possible situation ! What we did in 2006, showed up to be a very bad deal, as this Austrian guy, owner of the Russian company we purchased the forest machines from, had used the equipment as collateral for loans, even if we got confirmation about the opposite when making the deal ! End -07 we ended up staying “with empty hands” !2008 - Started management of a harvesting group. Harvesting mainly young Pine forest. Development of several projects, planning for a logisitc company, operating a timber terminal. Negotiations for reactivating a production line for glued laminated panels.Projected a plan for managing a timber terminal, including purchase of high lifting equipment.2009 - Financial crisis hit, and all projects - ongoing and planned - was halted.Started planning for the possibilities to establish wood pellets production.2010 - Continued work on possibilities for establishing bioenergy trading / production. Wood pellets project is in Russia still ongoing, missing final financing.Started investigating possibilities of exporting energywood to Norway, from Baltic countries.2011 - Started a project for purchasing woodworking facilities in Latvia. Small factory, specialised in hardwood processing, Aspen and Birch. The year ended without me managing with my task on purchase the woodworking-factory, due to lack of sufficient funding. So, the new year start with following up what 2011 ended with, still optimistic to success in Latvia.2012 - starting up "small business" in Latvia, import of high quality, used office furniture.2013 - 3D Printing. Entering into new business area. Planning for business for sale of 3D printing products, and 3D Printing service - offering prototyping jobs for architects, engineers and more.. -
ManagerBee Tree Ltd. Jan 1992 - Dec 2006Trading with Russian forest productsDevelopment of modern forest harvesting in RussiaProcessing of wooden products1992 – started trading with Birch pulp log to Norway (Norske Skog & Fritzøe Fiber) looking into Oak business, visiting Black Sea area1993 - As 1992, in addition investigating plywood trading, visiting several factories in European part of Russia1994 - increasing volumes extremely (5 – 6 times) as we started cooperation with the state railway, traded approx. 170.000 m3 (equal approx. 70 shiploads) Customers mainly Stora, Sødra, Modo, Industriskog and the Norwegians. 1995 - Same scheme as for 1994 re. logtrading - started investment into Russian sawmills.1996 - Log trading stopped totally, as the world market collapsed - increased investment into two sawmills, invested into production line for glueboard production - export of sawmaterials (Birch) to Denmark, Sweden, Germany and England 1997 - quality problem of sawn goods. This mistake of course made us a lot of trouble, with loss of business and money.1998 – Invited IKEA for cooperation, especially for Birch product area. After more than a year of planning and working out two projects, eventually owners (Russian) refused to go on with the projects, they became greedy as they understood that one partner (IKEA) had very strong financial ability1999 – Recovering after failing to establish the mentioned projects with IKEA and Russian partners2000 – Started log trading to Finland, in small scale compared with the trading in the mid 90’s. Special log products to selected customers – StoraEnso, UPM-Kymmene plus some smaller customers2001 – The above mentioned business is still running, and several projects are in the pipeline for to be put into work, but mainly waiting for financing before they get off the ground. 2003 – Stop of all activity. The above mentioned business, and plans for new projects, halted, lack of financing, and running business lack of steady supply.
