Graduate Research AssistantMississippi State University Aug 2019 - Aug 2022Mississippi, United States• Performed pore – scale computational analysis of flow and thermal transport in regular porous media including fiber – based and triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) – based lattices realizable through additive manufacturing with air and liquid as working fluids for electronics cooling applications.• Conducted morphology characterization of additively manufactured lattices to evaluate roughness signatures on the surfaces and developed computational models incorporating those anomalies resulting in significant increase in thermal performance prediction accuracy. • Conducted computational analysis of melting and solidification processes in phase change materials (PCMs)• Conducted simulations on granular flows (particle dia. ~500 microns) through porous media using discrete element modelling (DEM) in open-source software LIGGGHTS. • Led computational investigation on lattice–based heat exchangers with supercritical fluids for high–end applications such as solar power-driven Brayton cycles’ heat exchangers and scramjet regenerative cooling technology.• Designed experimental test–sections and lattice samples for forced convection experiments in lab and worked with multiple vendors for additive manufacturing. -
Graduate StudentNorth Carolina State University Aug 2017 - Jul 2019United States• Numerically analyzed the flow and thermal transport phenomenon for longitudinal vortex generators (LVGs) and profiled concavities catering to heat exchange devices used in solar air heaters, thermoelectric generators, and plate-fin heat exchangers. A novel combination configuration of LVGs and cavities was proposed and investigated to enhance the overall thermal-hydraulic performance. • Novel V-shaped protrusions were proposed and numerically investigated for gas turbine blade trailing edge cooling applications.
