About Kaushik Deb

I am an applied economist and researcher with over two decades of experience working in and with academia, government, and industry at the local, national, and international levels. I have held positions in India, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, including leadership roles at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, BP p.l.c., TERI University (now TERI School of Advanced Studies), and The Energy and Resources Institute.I am recognized thought leader in energy policy, market transitions, and climate solutions in developing countries. A significant aspect of my work is extracting meaningful and audience-specific content from complex evidence-based research to deliver messages in simple and more application-based formats. The range of subjects covered in my publications include creation of new markets, strategies for energy transition, energy market analysis, and blending energy transition and climate solutions with national priorities such as poverty reduction, fiscal stability, and meeting local environmental goals. In the recent years, my work in energy, environment, and climate research has been featured in radio, television and print interviews with international news organizations including Barrons, BBC, Boston Globe, Business Standard, CNN, Down to Earth, La Presse, Sansad TV, and S&P Platts.
