Dr. Kaustab Ghosh Email and Phone Number
“There's plenty of room at the bottom” – Richard FeynmanThis famous quote sums up the aplenty of research opportunities in the world of nanotechnology, which has raised my curiosity and interest throughout my career as a scientist and a professor. It’s been an exciting and thrilling journey with innovative thoughts and ideas to break through the deadlocks. Starting from my PhD days, I was involved into process modelling, mathematical modelling and simulation for the purification and growth of semiconductors and thin films . This was followed by my post-doctoral work on bandstructure modelling of semiconductor nanostructures along with experimental work for optoelectronic device applications. Currently, being a professor I am engaged in quantum mechanical modelling of nanomaterials such as quantum dots for photodetectors, solar cells, biomedical imaging and device modelling of nanoscale MOSFETs and graphene nanoribbon based sensors. These work cater to the targets given by international technology roadmap for semiconductors (ITRS) towards developing miniaturized devices in ultra large scale integration (ULSI) technology. In this domain of research, four students under my guidance have completed their PhD and two more in the pipeline for submitting their thesis. Apart from work, I enjoy spending leisure times with my kids in games, sports, travelling and fun activities. I would love to hear from you.
