I'm currently the Head of Development at Publicis (UK). My job entails working with a range of clients (Renault, Hewlett Packard, Fidelity International, Zurich Insurance, Ministry of Defense, Central Office of Information (COI), Finanacial Services Authority - to name but a few) on their web site technical requirements. I have worked through the full life cycle of web development projects starting from the pitching stage for new business through to scoping, blueprint, deployment and and post delivery support. A major part of my work is to gather client requirements and develop the functional specification of web sites. I regularly interview and hire staff within the development team and also liaise with third party development agencies and freelancers. I work across a range of web site projects ranging from small micro-sites for specific ad-campaigns through to medium and large scale web site deployments involving content management systems.

Experience in broadcast technology, transcoding engines and other competing DiTV systems. I was a developer working within a small team on the sky.com web site and we involved with the launch of skysports online using a enterprise CMS system. I was also lead developer for an offshoot company owned by British Sky Broadcasting called .TV (dot TV). This was a specialist television channel focused on programming for computer enthusiasts, computer game players, coders and people generally in to techie gadgets. I developed an extensive XML based feed system allowing .tv to display product and price information from a range of retailers on the .tv web site.

A started my job at the BBC working as a junior developer within the BBC Factual and Learning department. Thereafter I became a web producer within the same department and worked in developing and deploying a number of high profile BBC web sites including the BBC Education portal, developing games on the Telly Tubbies web site (in Java) and the BBC's HMS Windrush project where I did extensive working in video and audio streaming. During my time at the BBC I also redeveloped the BBC's Technology Intranet from scratch, developed all graphics and layout and hand coded the construction of the web site using coding technology such as HTML, SQL and SQL Server 2007.

I worked with PERL coding, Unix server systems and developed code for web site management and search engine technologies.
