As part of Amazon’s Retail Customer Experience team, I drove product initiatives for 260 million customers across 22 global marketplaces. I led the product evaluation charter, helping customers discover relevant information and make purchase decisions by driving experiments to optimize the product detail page and create personalized experiences. After writing countless PRFAQs, I was considering a career transition to a novelist. Thankfully, the experiments to improve customer experience paid off, leading to a billion dollars in incremental revenue, proving the effort was worth it.

Validus is the leading peer-to-peer SME lender in the ASEAN region and winner of the SFF Global Fintech Awards 2022. As second-in-command to the Chief Analytics Officer, I managed a team of 8 data scientists and engineers, and worked closely with the founders to drive lending innovation. I spearheaded our market entry into Thailand, collaborated with Fortune 500 corporations on customer pre-approval products, and launched innovations like the auto-invest mechanism. Driving Covid-19 crisis management initiatives won us the top prize at the MAS Global Fintech Innovation challenge. Along the way, I embraced Singapore’s unique culture - using 'Can can' and 'Cannot lah’ like a local, being able to tell apart a Kopi C Po and a Kopi Siew Dai and even braving the infamous durian.

Indifi is a SME cashflow financing platform backed by Accel Partners, Omidyar Network and other marquee investors. I founded the analytics department, defined the vision, and grew the team to 8 while working closely with the CEO/VP Analytics. I launched our online loan application channel, drove to product market fit and optimized the conversion funnel for high-volumes. I also set up the customer underwriting model and fraud prevention framework, significantly improving our credit performance. And yes, I quickly learned that modeling in data science is not as glamorous as walking the ramp — but it sure makes a difference when it saves millions in losses.

I co-founded Wholdus, a B2B e-commerce marketplace aimed at revolutionizing product distribution across India. I led it through its zero-to-one phase, scaled the business to support 250 manufacturers and 6,000+ retail outlets, a GMV run rate of $370K and grew the team to 12. Our team was later acquihired at Indifi.Looking back, there’s a thin line between bravery and foolishness when starting a company at a young age - and to be honest, I’m not sure which side I was on. But I’m glad I took the jump, ast it was the steepest learning curve I’ve ever experienced, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
