Staff WriterStateline.Org Sep 2002 - Jan 2007After distinguishing myself as a "multi-media" journalist and political newshound at UMass (including bagging a 45-min. one-on-one interview with John McCain just weeks after he dropped out of the 2000 election) I got a reporting gig with the online news wire Stateline.org. My reporting focused on public policy and social justice issues, including the death penalty, criminal justice and education reform, gay marriage and immigration. I was a paid contributor to NPR’s All Things Considered, interviewed on Morning Edition, Here and Now, Day to Day and CSPAN’s Washington Journal. Recognized as a national expert on gay rights, education and immigration reform and death penalty, my stories have been published or cited in more than a dozen newspapers nationwide, including citations on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, in The Washington Post, The Financial Times and The Washington Times. My stories have been adapted into chapters in two editions of a leading state government college textbook.
