I aspire to make a positive, tangible impact in the world through science policy, advocacy work, and organizing in my community. Causes I care about and work on include environmental and energy justice, worker rights, equity in higher education, food security, immigrant/refugee rights, and climate change mitigation.My experience spans a variety of sectors (e.g., local government, academia, nonprofit, national lab), types of work (e.g., policy analysis, lab work, grant writing, community outreach, on-the-ground organizing), and levels of leadership (president, chair, fundraising manager). The connection between communities impacted by climate change, scientists, and policymakers is one with which I enjoy interacting through a breadth of perspectives. I am a sixth year in the Seitz lab pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Northwestern University.
